Welcome to our travel blog, thank you for stopping by to learn more about DiMichele’s Destinations.  Let us start by introuducng ourselves, my name is David and my lovely wife Amber, aka…Damber or the DiMichele’s.  About seven months ago we decided to take the leap and let go of the American Dream to embark on our very own epic round the world adventure (RTW). Minimizing our belongings was the first step- so we sold everything, even down to the kitchen sink (how liberating)!

Our story begins with a map and a post-it note… about two and a half years ago we decided together that our next adventure had to be New Zealand.  So with that decision we placed our first post-it note destination on our world map.  We found ourselves over the next couple weeks becoming inspired and asking one another…”If you could go anywhere, where would it be”?… Before we knew it our map was beginning to taking form. We were adding destinations left and right…the Amalfi Coast in Southern Italy, the eastern coast of Australia, Koro Island in Fiji, cruising the Greek Isles, trekking  to the Huashan Teahouse in China, climbing the ancient ruins of Ankor Wat in Cambodia, and hiking the Kalalau Trail in Kauai.  This paper map turned into our playground and made us feel that any place was possible.

Over the last 8 years with many destinations already under our belts, it became clear to see that experiencing new cultures and seeing the beauties of the world drove us to keep traveling.  We found ourselves returning home from a trip and immediately starting to research our next destination.  We never wanted to lose momentum…we had to keep going…we had to see more… the wanderlust was real.

But reality was keeping us in check…we had our family, close friends, we had a beautiful house to come home to, and two great jobs that allowed us to live very comfortably. But we knew that we were longing for a life that we didn’t need a vacation from. So we made the decision to let it all go- make our dreams a reality and begin a new way of life as long term travelers…we are taking you with us on our journey as we follow our hearts to new destinations on our round the world adventure.
