As we reached the beach town of Byron Bay, which is the most eastern part of Australia, we then waited for our connecting bus to take us to our next destination, Nimbin.
We grabbed a quick bite to eat and then it was time to find our seats and settle in on the bus for the next hour.
Along the way the bus driver pointed out a beautiful sacred landmark, Nimbin Rocks.
As we reached the outskirts of town, our driver stopped the bus to pass along a few kind words of advice and to breifly explain to us how and why this funky town has been running itself for years.
As we entered the small town, all of our eyes were fixated out the window in awe… it appeared as if we were transported back in time, bursts of tie-dye and rainbows splashed across the shops and vibrant VW buses passed by playing a mixture of 70’s and reggae music!
Once the bus came to a rolling stop we all dispersed in different directions, unsure of where to go. David and I hooked a left and wandered the small main street of town that was scattered with shops and cafes.
We then found our shuttle bus that was scheduled to take us a few short minutes outside of town to our accommodation, Nimbin ROX.
Boy, what a difference a few kilometers can make…we went from a lively, “70’s peace and love town”-to a secluded, serene, tropical country side.
We checked-in and received a quick tour of the property before we were shown to our new home, The Orchid Yurt . It had everything we needed, a comfy queen size bed and an outdoor seating area with a fire pit just a few steps away…all overlooking the beautiful landscape.
Our time here was spent exploring the property, lounging by the pool, getting creative with our cooking skills and meeting new friends.
We would also take our daily stroll into town for many reasons: to replenish our groceries, enjoy some wood fire pizza, handmade ice cream and to stock up on my favorite carmel slices from the local bakery!

As the sun set each evening, our favorite pastime was listening to the soft sounds of guitars and singing that filled the air as we patiently waited for our kangaroo friends to pay us a visit.
We enjoyed our time in this peaceful place but it was time to say goodbye and continue our journey north…to Arlie Beach!

Beautiful! Thank you for sharing and Happy Easter! You both look amazing!
